XAPR100C: Pre-Apprenticeship Construction Trades

The OCCC Pre-Apprenticeship for Construction Trades (P.A.C.T.) is a program certified by the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industry (BOLI).  It is designed to provide comprehensive trainings in the construction trades, career readiness, and OSHA safety training.
The PACT program, participants will earn the OSHA-10 certification – a vital piece that delivers robust content around workplace safety. They will also complete other certifications, ranging from CPR/lifesaving to forklift and scissor-lift operating. They will learn how to read and interpret blueprints, and will learn mathematics including right-angle trigonometry, mastering how to calculate area and volume, among other skills. Projects created with tools-of-the-trades will be a way for students to learn about and practice tool safety.  Additionally, virtual reality modules will be utilized for further tools and job simulation experiences.
